How I accidentally got a gym
card. I went to the nurse to get results from a health checkup (that we all had
to undergo). On my way there, I met the Germans and they told me – oh, A. is
there to get the results now too! And so I just told the doctor that I am there
because of the same thing as the girl before me. Turns out I wasn’t. Several additional
checkups later, I got a form for the gym card. There were several more steps to
follow and I might have had the chance to escape, had there not been a Chinese
classmate who was keen on helping me to translate the medical terminology to
English. And so I had to proceed with the process until the end and now I can
use the gym AND the pool for free.

I was teaching Czech when
suddenly the TV came in and started filming us. Somewhere in Japan, we were on
the news, (they said).

I tried different coffees all
over campus and now I feel like in Gilmore girls recommending people where to
go.

First exam period is over. I
will know the results of the exams in January. Everyone is fine with not
knowing whether they passed or not for three months.

In China, November 11 is the
day of single people. We talked about it in our Econ class today. 11/11. They
have sales everywhere for lonely people. In Japan, it´s the Pocky day.

Our Japanese conversation teacher
tries to piece together the information she randomly finds out about W. sensei.
So far she has that he loves keigo and kotowaza. Everyone was confused in class
when I knew how to say 猫の手も借りたい and other
useful idioms. (I am so busy I would even borrow a cat´s paw for help.)
