I guess this is a good way to tell about my struggles and achievements as an Erasmus student to those of you who are interested in knowing what´s happening in my life.

- I passed all of my exams!!! (I am awesome.)
- Room cleaned, windows washed, garbage taken out. First suitcase closed. The second one probably never will be.
- The weirdest things got left in my fridge --> tonights special: spinach, an egg, a piece of cheese and two pickles.
- Last night (~last goodbye party).

- Time to go home.

  1. Hi! I'm a Brazilian grad student who's about to move to Bochum for a phd (in Japanese, too!). Out of curiosity, I've been looking for information on what's like to study in RUB, and your blog was just perfect. I binge-read through the whole thing, and it was a most down-to-earth, frank, interestingly human portrayal. I've loved the vocab lists, especially when they were sprinkled all over with that delightful Czech. I certainly will make good use of those megabuses.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this!

    1. Hi! How nice to read this, thanks so much for such a lovely feedback! I wrote this mostly for my friends and family so I don´t know if there is much practical info you can use. However, if there is anything where a perspective of a used-to-be-a-foreigner-in-Germany student might be useful - feel free to ask.

I might have to disappoint you though, I think Megabus was bought by Flixbus recently :( Turns out selling tickets for 1Euro probably wasn´t the most profitable business. I am sure you´ll find some student-friendly options in any case though. Enjoy Bochum! RUB is a wonderful university.
